A standalone tub without a rack system can be tricky to make escape proof. One option is to modify the tub and use bolt latch clips to secure the lid to the body of the tub. This quick guide explains how to do so.
This modification requires:
two bolt snaps
drill
twist bit for the drill that is the same width as the hook of your bolt snap

First, latch the lid onto the top of your tub enclosure. Double check that it is sitting securely upon the tub body.
Next, measure the length of the tub and determine where the center is. This will decide where the clip must be placed to prevent escaping snakes. Locate the region the tub lid overlaps with the tub body.
Hold the lid and tub firmly together to prevent movement and drill through both the lid and the body at once. Do this for both the front of the tub and the back as well, so both sides are inescapable.
Double check the holes were completed and the lid and body match.
